Abstract/Summary: This document is a semi-annual update, focused mainly on nucleic acid amplification test (NAAT) technologies, specifically roll-out of the Xpert® mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB)/rifampicin (RIF) resistance test, and a review of fast-follower NAATs that are on the market or will be on the market by early 2013. This report also provides an update on the ongoing work to assess the market size for TB diagnostics and develop target product profiles (TPPs) for new TB diagnostics. Challenges for point-of-care (POC) testing and market dynamics and barriers for roll-out of new TB diagnostics are also reviewed. The material in this landscape is current through December 2012.
